7.11.08 - According to Zenda McCann of McCann Mortgage, interest on a 30 year fixed mortgage is 6.5%.
The Taos market is picking up! I do not see huge price reductions like in other parts of the country, but I do see sellers being more flexible in inspection negotiations. They are also pricing their properties at the actual value, avoiding 'the dance' of price negotiation in a purchase agreement. Some are getting pre-listing appraisals to be sure of an accurate price. I see buyers being much more particular, too, since there is so much inventory for them to choose from.
